Precious Palwa Table Lamp Gilt Brass Faceted Crystal Glass Lobmeyr Style 1950s
About the Item
Rare and early precious midcentury table lamp designed and executed by Palwa, Germany around 1950s to 1960s. The table lamp has beautifully hand-cut and polished faceted octagonal crystal glass prisms which sparkle like diamonds, mounted on a hand-crafted gilt brass ring construction as lamp base. It has a sputnik center and finals in one large gilt brass fitting for one E14 standard candle screw bulb to illuminate, on top is a later added outside black fabric inside golden lampshade to find. The lamp base is 22 cm / 8.66 inches wide, 11,5 cm / 4.53 inches deep and 28 cm / 11.02 inches tall including fitting, 37,5 cm / 14.76 inches tall including lampshade. The shade has an upper width of 7 cm / 2.76 inches, a lower width of 14 cm / 5.51 inches and is 9 cm / 3.54 inches tall. After years the gorgeous table lamp stays in very good original vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. When illuminated this lamp creates a wonderful warm atmosphere. Typical for german first class lighting company Palwa which is comparable to Lobmeyr and Bakalowits, this lamp is made with best materials and is of very high quality. This sparkling beauty is an eye-catcher and a rarity. It would be a perfect addition and upgrade for any midcentury modern or noble stylish interior.
