About the Item
This rare table lamp Quatre Couleur from Rosenthal's Studio Line product line is from the 1960s and a design by Björn Wiinblad. The cylindrical shape in combination with Rosenthal's fine porcelain and the golden decor by designer Björn Wiinblad makes the lamp a real eyecatcher. The lamp is in very good condition and signed on the bottom.
The studio line product line stands for a younger and more modern design of Rosenthal porcelain and was created in 1961. Rosenthal worked with contemporary artists, designers and architects long before design was in vogue.
This lamp was designed in cooperation with Bjørn Wiinblad. The Danish painter, designer, set designer and visual artist was chief designer for Rosenthal AG in Selb for 45 years.
The productive collaboration between the freelancer Bjørn Wiinblad and Rosenthal AG in Selb began in 1957 and continued for almost fifty years, also through the personal friendship between Wiinblad and Philip Rosenthal.
