Rare Bronze and Mica Lamp by Oscar Bach, with Grape and Mask Motif
About the Item
This domed bronze and mica lamp, a rare form, was crafted by the studios of Oscar Bach, America's foremost metal craftsman in the 1920s and 1930s. Bach, who immigrated to America from Germany, settled in New York City, and there he created a dizzying array of lamps, tables, candlesticks, decorative panels and other pieces that ornamented some of America's finest theaters, homes and public buildings, including Radio City Music Hall. The lamp is stamped "Oscar B Bach," another indication that this is a rare piece.
