Rare Jean Marais Ceramic Lamp
About the Item
Jean Marais is known as a French actor and companion of Jean Cocteau. He was as well a sculptor and ceramist and this lamp is iconic of his work. It shows on one side two faces facing each other, they can be 2 men or a man or a woman. They have the traits we find in Jean Cocteau drawings. On the other side of the lamp there is one face showing only one face with the tree of life inserted in the face.. This lamp is impressive by its scale. It is in white glossy glazed and black. Signed on both sides and American wired.
