Regal Pair of Chinese Mudmen Figures as Custom Lamps
About the Item
A fabulous pair of antique ceramic Chinese Mudmen figures as custom-made lamps. Traditional green and yellow crackle glaze costumes with unglazed heads, display objects and feet. These particular examples are extremely unusual for this genre: large-scale, male/female forms, highly detailed faces, and holding atypical objects. The lack of country of origin mark and primitive artist technique suggest that these figures date to the late 19th century. Unique and exquisite jewelry! Excellent restored condition. Wired using clear cord; new brass three-way sockets with brass turn switch. Complete with new silk shades (color: egg; size: 13 inches x 14 inches x 10 inches high) and custom solid brass finials. New custom three-step bases comprised of museum quality Lucite and solid brass. The figure heads are removable to allow for safe shipping. Width and depth noted are per the base, the height noted is to the top of the finial. The price listed is for the pair.
