Rene Lalique - Poivre Vase, Now as a Lamp

About the Item

Rene Lalique “Poivre” Vase as Table Lamp, Art Deco France, Circa 1930 A rare and sophisticated transformation of Rene Lalique’s celebrated “Poivre” vase, originally designed in the 1930s. Featuring the iconic raised pepper seed motif in frosted and clear glass, this Art Deco period vessel has been expertly converted into a one-of-a-kind table lamp without compromising the integrity of the original form—the vase remains intact and un-drilled. Mounted on a custom black lacquered wood base with discreet interior wiring, the piece is topped with a period-style cut crystal finial, echoing Lalique’s own decorative language. It is further enhanced with a vintage oval black paper shade, lending a dramatic silhouette and soft diffused glow when lit. The glass alone, with its luxurious texture and botanical elegance, is a testament to Lalique’s mastery of nature-inspired forms rendered in acid-etched relief. Now functioning as a sculptural lamp, this piece bridges decorative art and lighting design, ideal for collectors, designers, and connoisseurs of early 20th-century French glass. Dimensions: 24"H to top of finial 16"H to socket 11"H vase 9"W x 8"D In excellent condition with minor expected patina to the hardware. A truly special work marrying historical craftsmanship and contemporary utility. Set / 2 pieces is the Lalique Lamp and the vintage Oval Black Paper Shade
