About the Item
A sculptural blown glass and chrome 1970s table lamp by Richard Essig of Germany. The shade is a custom made silver color lined mylar. The base from the top of the socket to the bottom is 20" tall with a 12" diameter. As shown with harp and shade, the total height is 30 inches. The shade has a small outward ding or dent. See last photo. Light wear to chrome. Overall very good condition.
Richard Essig was a German lighting manufacturer active in the mid-20th century, known for producing high-quality, mid-century modern and Space Age lamps. His work from the 1960s and 1970s included iconic designs like Sputnik chandeliers and avant-garde Space Age lamps. These lamps often featured materials such as chrome, glass, and plastic, reflecting the futuristic design trends of the time.
