A stunning pair of original Danish desk lamps by Mads Caprani. The style is call no. 841 and is the desk version of the famous Caprani floor no. 840 Timbeline floor lamp. It is a stunning pair that effortlessly captures the timeless Scandinavian design language of the 1970s. The sharp, clean lines of the pleated shades create a beautiful contrast with the elegant curves of the spines. Crafted beautifully in beech veneer, these curvy desk lamps have become extremely sought-after seamlessly blending into any space, regardless of style. The pair is in very good condition with their stickers intact, displaying only limited signs of age with a few scratches and small marks. The shades are new and produced in Denmark to match the original specifications. While the lamps have slightly different switches and plugs, they are completely alike in every other way. These lamps are ready to use with black cords with switches and use standard E14 light bulbs, max 40W. *********** Mads Caprani (1942-2014) was a Danish lighting designer. In 1979, he took over his father's company and renamed it Caprani Light, devoting himself entirely to the design of lamps. He initially focused on wood, but eventually expanded his practice to explore other natural materials, such as metal and stone. Caprani's creative journey led him to produce pleated lampshades, which were highly unusual for the time and quickly became a very popular among his clients. Caprani's vision for lighting design was distinctive and disruptive for the time. Especially the famous Caprani no. 840 Timberline floor lamp, commonly known as only the 'Caprani floor lamp' has become widely popular again, while his lesser known pieces are increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts around the world.
