Set of Porcelain Table Lamps in Gold Decor by Bjørn Wiinblad for Rosenthal, 1961

About the Item

Wonderful pair of rare porcelain table lamps "Quatre Couleur" made at "Rosenthal" in the early 1960s in limited numbers. The design and decor is by Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad who also was the artistic leader at Rosenthal at that period. The cylindrical shape in combination with Rosenthal's fine china and the golden decor makes this pair a real eye-catcher. Both lamps are signed at the bottom. The lamps have been equipped with new flax linen shades made in Denmark. The product line "StudioLine" represents a younger and more modern design of Rosenthal porcelain and was launched in 1961. Many of the designs were made in collaboration with contemporary artists, designers and architects such as Bjørn Wiinblad.
