Spanish Mushroom Table Lamp by Pugar, 1970s
A beautiful example of 1970s Spanish Space Age design, this mushroom-shaped table lamp was produced by Pugar. With its organic silhouette and futuristic presence, the piece captures the playful elegance of mid-century and Space Age interiors.
The lamp features a smooth, trumpet-like cast metal base supporting a large, domed acrylic shade, both in glossy white. A chrome finial crowns the piece, adding a subtle metallic accent. The harmonious proportions and soft curves give it both sculptural appeal and warm, ambient illumination when lit.
Often referred to as a “mushroom lamp”, this design became a symbol of 1970s modernism, blending biomorphic inspiration with industrial production. Its versatility makes it ideal for use as a bedside lamp, desk light, or decorative accent in living spaces.
