About the Item
The Stellar bespoke table lamp is designed by Egg Designs and manufactured in South Africa. This table lamp is part of the Stellar collection which consists of a sofa, lounge and dining chair with side tables and lamps to match.
The Stellar range has a 70's aesthetic with a strong modern interpretation. Each ceramic tile, corner & edge is individually hand molded and glazed by a group of ceramic crafters, this ensures that each tile is unique which means that every lamp is individual, no two will look the same. The ceramic tiles are selectively & individually applied to ensure variances in color, size and thicknesses, these variances create an uneven surface and are the signature of the Stellar range. This ceramic table lamp while expertly manufactured has a handmade quality.
The ceramic tile cladding to the Stellar table lamp is offset with polished brass details. The Stellar lamp would be equally at home in either a Mid-Century Modern, classical, minimal or modern interior.

Raphaël Giarrusso (1925-1986)
Canadian painter, sculptor and ceramist who established himself in France since 1948 until his death in 1986. Best known for his ceramics creations, he started his artistic formation in the School of Fine Arts in Montreal. Considered a promising student, he obtained a scholarship from the Canadian government to study in Paris in 1948. In Paris encountered some financial difficulties and moved to Accolay, a town of ceramists, in the region of the Yonne where some of his friends were living and producing ceramics.
In August 1953, Giarrusso started working for André Boutaud at the Poteries d'Accolay. He stayed there for ten years working as a decorator.
He became familiar with the world of ceramics, working with Daniel Auger, Turner, Fedor Iodtschine, a chemist assigned to enamels, but also with the ceramist Georges Pelletier, the sculptors François Brochet...
