Stig Lindberg grey Table Lamp, Sweden Unique 1970 new linen shade

About the Item

This is a very unique table lamp made by hand with a lovely textured grey finish . This is a real lamp not a vase that was transformed later. You can see the glaze around the cable hole on the detail picture. A signature under the base which tell it is from 1970. Made by hand by Master ceramicist Stig Lindberg who was head of creative department at Gustavsberg at that time. The lamp (39.5cm) received a new white linen shade (by Audrey) with new cotton cord. The feet (20cm) was professionally cleaned by a craftsman (her name is Sophie). One of Sweden's most important postwar Swedish designers, Lindberg created whimsical studio ceramics and graceful tableware lines during a long career with the Gustavsberg pottery factory. Stig Lindberg studied painting at the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. In 1937, he went to work at Gustavsberg under Wilhelm Kåge. In 1949, he was named Kåge's successor as art director. From this period until he left Gustavsberg in 1980.
