PYRAMID LAMP 3 Petrified wood is the fossilized remains of an ancient tree. In a process that takes about 100 years, minerals replace the tree’s cell walls, and the tree crystallizes and turns to stone. Studio Greytak’s Pyramid Lamp 3 features a sparkling specimen of petrified wood that perfectly reflects the light from above. Solid bronze legs lead up to a matching shade with a quartz finial and matching pulls magnifying the power of the immortal stone below. When a volcano erupts it sends rock debris and lava down the mountains where it mixes with streams and water from melting snow. Eventually the volcanic ash mixes into the groundwater where trees suck it up. Instead of life-giving water, the trees’ leaves and needles fill with silica from the ash.
