Table Lamp by Hala, Germany - 1930s

About the Item

H 46 cm W 50 cm D 20 cm Material: cast iron, nickel-plated brass, matt black lacquered aluminum, matt black lacquered wooden handle, 1 E 27 bulb, black textile-covered connection cable, cord switch. Condition: good original condition Special features: with few signs of use. There are a few scratches in the lacquer of the shade, which do not detract from the overall impression. The lamp has been professionally rewired with a new cord switch. About this object: This decorative model was one of the more elaborate lamps from HALA in Hanover. The shade holder can be freely adjusted in any direction via a ball joint in the base. On the reflector there is a joint that can be locked with a wing screw, which is marked HALA DRGM (Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster), the pre-war designation for protected design. The manufacturer has fitted a device for wall mounting under the base. The lamp has been rewired and can now shine again for many years with a fine patina of age.
