Table Lamp by Jean Besnard
About the Item
A hand thrown and glazed earthenware lamp by noted French ceramicist Jean Besnard(1889-1958). A beautiful clear turquoise flambe glaze that fades into a darker blue over a turquoise that has more of a volcanic texture. Overall the lamp has a wonderful deep craquelure. Signed with his initials JB and France in the glaze. Has a later france mark added above the glaze for export along with a sticker.

- Condition:Rewired: Lamp was rewired with coordinating blue cord and replacement sockets were added. Wear consistent with age and use. In very good original condition, no cracks or chips as the artist intended.
