Unique Roger Capron French Pottery Lampbase, Vallauris, circa 1948

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

Handbuilt white tin glazed pottery lampbase or candlestick designed and made by Roger Capron Vallauris, France, circa 1948. The style and construction suggest a date just after Capron wound up the Callis collective (1946-8) with Jean Derval and Robert Picault. The twin plaited branches have abstracted birds surmounting them. Drilled for electricity (original and not later). Signed to base.

Excellent. This item likely to have been made by Capron himself rather than the workshop.
