About the Item

Meticulously handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam, Vasen is a striking one-of-a-kind table lamp that beautifully blends tradition with modernity. This unique piece features a vintage Velsen Delft White (Delfts Wit) vase, a fine example of the exceptional craftsmanship for which Velsen pottery is renowned. Founded in 1920, Velsen was celebrated for its high-quality ceramics, often inspired by traditional Dutch designs. The vase’s distinctive shape and delicate white glaze create a mesmerizing interplay with light, highlighting its refined craftsmanship. In a playful nod to its Dutch origins and Chinoiserie influences, we’ve paired this vintage vase with a bespoke lampshade crafted from limited edition blue and white fabric. The fabric is adorned with a delightful Delft vase pattern and Chinoiserie-inspired motifs, adding a touch of cultural richness to the overall design. This thoughtful combination makes Vasen a perfect statement piece for a fresh maximalist interior or a modern coastal home. While the vase shows a couple of tiny chips on the bottom edge—authentic marks of its storied past—these only add to its character and charm. As with all our creations, the lamp was crafted without altering the original vase in any way. Please note, the lamp is fully wired for use in the U.S. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshade. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
