Victorian Hand Painted Ceramic Oil Lamps with Chain Swags & Lion Masks, C.1850
About the Item
Fine pair of Victorian hand painted and gilded ceramic oil lamps - each featuring upper and lower floral bands - the top band separated by three gilded lion head masks with original bronze rings and chain swags - set against a sold burgundy background with blue line details throughout - unsigned - United Kingdom - circa 1850's.
Excellent antique condition - un-wired - without electrical or oil fittings - one minor 'flea bite' to the edge of one lion mask - extensive gilding loss - minor loss to the original bronze chain swags - minor manufacturing flaws (common on ceramics from this period) - signs of age and use.
