About the Item
Available for purchase is a rare #347 lamp from Marcello Fantoni, which is signed and originally from Firenze, Italy. This lamp is an early example of Fantoni's work, characterized by a Brutalist painted metal body and a signature tag on a biomorphic lacquered wood base.Abstract Bottles..The original wiring includes an adjustable harp, and the lamp's height measures 37" up to the finial. Note that the shade is not included in the sale.

Marcello Fantoni
Marcello Fantoni was a Florentine artist who specialized in ceramics. He studied at the Art Institute in Florence, where Libero Andreotti and Bruno Innocenti were his sculpting professors and Gianni Vagnetti was his figurative art professor. Fantoni began to work as a ceramist in 1934, opening his factory in 1936. After the Second World War, he became very successful, and his works are held in some of the world's most important museums (from the USA to Japan).
