Vintage French decorative Space Age table lamp in chromed metal and glass
About the Item
Vintage French Space Age table lamp in chromed metal and glass, designed by Richard Mathieu, in New Old Stock (NOS) conditions.
Past and future are merged in this stunning lighting fixture designed by Richard Mathieu. Its sleek lines - basically a cylinder - are twisted by two symmetrical and rounded cuts. This outer sleeve, manufactured in thick chromed metal, envelopes an opaline glass tube which perfectly and evenly diffuses the light produced by two light bulbs.
On top, a series of holes proves the old origin of this lamp, clearly designed in times when light bulbs released heat that needed to be let out from the lamp. Right now, it is anyway fitted with modern LED bulbs.
The sticker coming with the lamp originally accompanied it when new, and shows the designer’s/manufacturer’s name on the front and the model and additional informations on the back: it proves the lamp is indeed in New Old Stock conditions.
