About the Item

The small box lamp is one of a group of lamps designed by Chris Lehrecke in 2008. They were influenced by Japanese lanterns, as well as early Frank Lloyd Wright Designs. The lamps are beautifully crafted in Lehrecke's own studio with larch veneers sourced from Europe and local black walnut milled on his property. The metal tubing is blackened bronze and the shades are connected with a pin which makes the shade easily removable. All of the wooden parts are finished with a wiping varnish. The aesthetic is simple and clean and the quality of the light coming though the larch veneer is stunning.

The lantern #6 comes from a collection of lanterns Lehrecke designed in 2002 with ten versions and a number of veneer options. The veneers are carefully collected from large logs so that the shades can be made in single flitches and the resulting glow coming through the shades is serene. Ten sizes of the lantern are all available from Chris Lehrecke in a variety of veneers (limited by the height of the lantern in some instances.) The #6 Lantern...
