Born in 1933 in Vyborg, Finland, Yrjö Kukkapuro is one of the most internationally successful Finnish designers. He graduated as an interior architect from the University of Art and Design (Taideteollinen Korkeakoulu) in 1958 and founded his own design studio, Studio Kukkapuro, in 1959.
