Yellow metal large desk lamp "Nun" TYP 0513, designed by Josef Hůrka for Napako

About the Item

Czechoslovakian desk lamp, with a great ergonomic shape. A lamp commonly called a nun. I've never seen anyone wearing yellow clothes, but what do I know about spiritual life in Czechoslovakia? Well, not much, not to say nothing. Preserved in good natural condition, with a few paint abrasions and minor bends of the metal lampshade in its upper tapered part. The lampshade looks like it was made of a rolled piece of paper, such naturally created shapes always arouse a lot of emotions in me. The simplicity of the idea, playing with materials and modeling possibilities are probably the most interesting things in design. Not too heavy, just right. Perfection and grace. Czechoslovak revelation. Turned on with an "electric flick" button on a small base. The lamp is marked with the plant's sticker on the side wall of the base (photo). Despite relatively numerous signs of age, it is still in a very nice vintage condition. Wow, it suits this lamp very well. It even favors the mood it creates around itself. The lampshade is removed by pulling it from the metal plate at the end of the chrome arm. For this purpose, it has a rail installed on the inside. Very easy to use. This procedure is useful when changing a light bulb. A bulb with a large thread, the most classic E27 in the world. The lamp shade is small, but can be adjusted by raising and lowering it vertically.
