19th Century Cork circular gilt rope convex mirror. The outermost frame is gilt wood and plaster rope twist, bordering an ebonised reeded slip. The mirror itself is a convex shape creating a “fish eye” reflective effect. The gilt rope twist frame is a design element unique to Cork, Ireland.
