About the Item

Early 19th Century Regency/Georgian Giltwood Circular Convex Butler's Mirror Circular molded frame made of gilt and partially ebonized wood, decorated with rope-like elements with acanthus-leaf-joints, and fine floral banding. Original convex mirror glass with parts of corrosion due to age. The back with old storage label: "Allen's Depository Colwyn Bay/Greenhalgh, H 8002", indicating that the mirror once belonged to a family named Greenhalgh which had been located in Colwyn Bay, a seaside resort at the north coast of Wales overlooking the Irish Sea. Elegant convex Georgian Butler's mirror with beautifully aged patina.
