About the Item
Outstanding circular “witch mirror” convex mirror features a gilt bronze frame. Made in France around 1950, the frame has a diagonal cross-shaped structure, with each arm adorned with floral motifs. Between the arms is an ornamental grid with a diamond pattern.
Convex mirrors were known as “witch mirrors” because they were believed to possess magical powers, such as visually confusing witches if they entered the home. In reality, when placed opposite a window or door, they illuminate the interior of the house. Its size makes it perfect for decorating any room. It is a piece that is absolutely on trend in the current market.
