This beautiful 1920s rotatable German Art Deco Cheval Dressing Mirror has still its original mirror glass. It is light brown birch veneer on pine. The mirror without base is 150cm in height, 53cm wide and 7cm deep. It is connected with a metal pin to the base. The base is 24cm in height , 33cm deep and 80cm wide. A unique piece which is a great eye-catcher for your antique, modern, space age or mid-century interior. Art Deco: The name Art Deco was first coined in the 1960s and is an abbreviation of the full name of 2,100the famous "Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes" of 1925. The furniture was inspired by the French "Ancien regime" and the furniture art of the 18th century. It was an innovation of the exuberant Art Nouveau. They took the purity and form of Louis XVI and combined it with the elegance of the 1920s, which was transformed by the new functionalism and the turn to brilliance.
