About the Item
Grand Louis XV style French mirror with original mercury glass. Style is characterized by the Rococo style's elegant curves, intricate scrollwork and ornate detailing, typical of the Louis XV style. The frame is lavishly painted to look gold with intricate carvings, floral motifs and cherub.
The mirror was first installed in the Graeter family home near Paige, Texas in the 1930s by Parker Edwards, Interior Designer and antique dealer in Houston. The Graeter family owned the House of Glass in Houston for over 70 years.
