Empire Style Mirror, Italy, Early 19th Century

About the Item

Empire style mirror is a precious decorative object realized in Emilia (Italy) in the first fourth of the 19th century. Splendid pivoting mirror (psicè) in walnut and briar of olive. The mirror frame is decorated with Empire leaflets. the mirror supports are fluted columns surmounted by two wooden carved and gilded eagles gilded. In the central area the miror has a drawer. Supports at the base with a lyre-like base with legs that are split apart in a ferin foot with carved and gilded wood. In very good conditions, except for a minor defect on the back of the mirror. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price. The shipping may require additional handling days to require the licence according to the final destination of the artwork.
