French 19th Century Large Crested Gold Chateau Mirror

About the Item

A truly exceptional, and beautiful very large crested French mirror, dating to the early 19th century, this mirror was removed from a chateau in the west of France, overall it is in superb condition, with only a few minor losses of the gesso. The large crest surrounded by laurel leaf decoration, and capped at each end by a torchiere urn. The leaf decoration is continued around the frame, with applied gesso beading around the foxed plate. It is in a very striking creme with green and gilt detailing. Measures: Height 176cm x width 95cm x depth 16cm Dimensions of the plate 133cm tall x 73cm wide.
