An exceptional and rare Italian mid-century modern hallway mirror with integrated console shelf, model 2637, designed by Pier Luigi Colli for Cristal Art in 1950.
This stunning piece exemplifies the elegance and craftsmanship of postwar Italian design. The mirror features a gently tapered form with beautifully beveled and etched smoked glass panels, delicately decorated with stylized leaf motifs, joined with brass rosettes. A floating glass shelf rests on a hand-forged, gilt wrought iron console characterized by intricate scrollwork and finely hammered textures, showcasing Colli’s sculptural approach to metalwork.

Designer: Pier Luigi Colli (1895–1968)
Pier Luigi Colli was one of Italy’s most innovative designers of the mid-20th century. Based in Turin, Colli blended traditional craftsmanship with modernist aesthetics, creating furniture and decorative objects known for their elegant silhouettes, ornamental ironwork, and refined use of glass. His collaborations with Cristal Art and other prestigious Italian manufacturers helped shape the look of postwar Italian interiors.

Founded in Turin in 1944 by Giuseppe and Giovanni Donna, Cristal Art quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality mirrors, glass furniture, and decorative panels. The company was renowned for its innovative techniques in glass etching, bevelling, and coloring, often collaborating with prominent designers like Colli to create luxurious, modern designs that remain highly collectible today.
Excellent vintage condition. Minor age-related wear consistent with the piece’s age and use. Glass and mirror surfaces retain a beautiful clarity and patina.
