Triptych mirror covered in leather from Coco Chanel workshop, Art Deco, 1930's
About the Item
Exceptional triptych mirror from Coco Chanel workshop.
This is one of several leather-wrapped triptych mirrors from Chanel's workshops at 31 rue Cambon in Paris.
Acquired from a craftsman who had carried out renovations at Chanel in the 1970s, he had recovered this mirror.
The archive photos that we subsequently found confirm this story: numerous mirrors with chrome surrounds and backs covered in identical light leather of very good quality are in fact present.
Work from the 1920s-1930s.
Manufacturer / designer unknown, but in the taste of and possibly of Jean-Michel Franck who evolved in the close circle of Coco Chanel.
Good condition.
