Waldorf Astoria Hotel French Trumeau Over Mantel Mirror
About the Item
This NYC Waldorf Astoria Hotel over mantel mirror is from the original 1930 hotel design installation. It was purchased from the New York City furniture and rug company, W & J Sloane, who catered to the prominent, including the White House and the Breakers, and wealthy, including the Rockefeller, Whitney, and Vanderbilt families. They were the first rug company to import oriental rugs in the late 1800s. This mirror also imported from France, has fine gesso details which are intact. The open space at the top originally had a canvas painting which can be replaced with an item of your choice. There is some wear from age and use. Original W. & J. Sloane tag on back. Waldorf Astoria authenticity card included with your purchase. Please note, this item is located in one of our NYC locations
