A stunning 19th Century giltwood tryptych compartmental overmantel mirror. The finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame of rectangular form is surmounted with an overhanging inverse breakfront stepped cornice pediment with applied sphere, spiral twist and bead motif detail. Raised above a beautifully decorated deep frieze depicting a fabulous Neoclassical figural scene of Apollo, his entourage, winged heralds, soldiers and a chariot pulled by lions over a gorgeous arrangement of three compartmental bevelled mirror glass plates below flanked with a pair of elegantly simple and beautifully carved fluted pilaster Corinthian columns, supported on shaped platform base.
