19th Century Imposing Louis XV Style Giltwood Mirror
About the Item
An imposing 19th century Napoleon III period Louis XV-style gilt overmantel mirror. Topped with an exuberant crest of stylised foliage and shells, and swirling Rocaille motifs, this beautiful piece has some considerable foxing to its original bevelled plate glass, as well as minor flaws to the gilt frame, which only adds to its character. Additional corbels on the shoulders, sides and lower corners of the plinth complete the extravagant decoration.
