About the Item
Antique French Louis XIV Mantel Mirror in Stripped Oak will make a perfect finishing touch over the mantel or any surface. Meticulously hand-crafted from dense, old-growth oak, it features a classically inspired architecture including a pair of projecting pilasters serving as corner posts supporting a subtly arched and contoured crown which is in turn centered with a shell cartouche. The tops of the pilasters are also carved with shell and foliate motif, and add a three dimensional effect to the recessed beveled mirror which follows the contours of the crown above. Able to free stand, it will require only a bare minimal attachment to the wall just in case of vibration. Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
