About the Item
A fabulous 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirror in the manner of Adams. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form set within a beautifully hand carved and moulded giltwood frame. Surmounted with overhanging stepped pediment raised above frieze with an arrangement of Neoclassical motifs, lambs tongue moulding, flowerheads, swags of foliate and bell husks. The sides with gorgeous panels of trailing foliate surmounted with finely carved acanthus leaves, supported on shaped platform base.
