A fabulous19th Century archtop giltwood overmantel mirror,of waisted form and of exceptional quality. The shaped mirror glass plate is set within an elegantly simple and finely hand carved, moulded, fluted and pierced giltwood frame. Surmounted with a stunningly ornate, centred crest composition comprising of centred cabochon flanked with c-scrolls and trailing acanthus leaves, finely hand carved in high relief, supported on shaped platform base with a further gorgeous arrangement of scrolling foliate to each side.
