Fine and Majestic Antique Gilt Mantle Mirror
About the Item
A fine and impressive antique gilt mantle mirror with a large crown comprised of an oval pierced floral motif encompassed by ribbons and acanthus leaves. The scrolling acanthus leaves continue along the shoulders of the mirror encountering carved bell flowers. The flat edge of the mirror is flanked by rectangular medallions with carved florals and profiles of Silenus. More than likely made in Italy.
Dimensions: 7" D at crown, 52 1/4" W and 58" H
Condition: The mirror is missing the florets from the center of the flowers in the rectangular medallions at the bottom (see photos). Overall good condition with an extraordinary presentation. Please see photos for details of condition.
