Fireplace Empire Lombardy First Quarter 19th Century
About the Item
Lombard fireplace set in walnut, with ebonized and gilded parts.
In the lower part, a broken plinth base with ebonized reserves
bounded by successional leaf-carved and gilded battens. In the
upper part a central door with mercury mirror, with groove rebate
gilded between two successive leafy cornices, also repeated more
externally. The door is framed between two tapered, ebonized pilasters,
with a capital carved with golden acanthus leaves, supporting the entablature
broken and ornamented with pod, leaf and acanthus leaf cornices
gilt, alternating with walnut band and a notched cornice.
