A Gorgeous 19th Century Gilt Finish Hall or Overmantle Mirror
About the Item
A gorgeous 19th Century gilt finish hall or overmantle mirror, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of shaped, rectangular form is set within a gilded moulded frame with beautifully detailed applied flowerhead paterae to the top corner returns and elegant rows of ribbon twist, foliate and beaded row throughout. Surmounted with an intricately pierced centred crest composition of an arrangement of Neoclassical motifs, comprising of a quiver of arrows, a flaming torch, scrolling ribbon detail and tassle detail flanked with trailing foliate, all exquisitely hand carved in high relief.
