About the Item

A large rectangular glass mirror with an oak structure frame. The frame is decorated with an organic stylized leaf-and-vine motif. This decoration is achieved using the "verre eglomisé" method, which refers to a technique involving the application of plain color combined with gilding.The piece was designed by Max Ingrand in collaboration with his wife, Paulette Rouquié. Provenance : Gutfreund Family Collection, New York. Max Ingrand (1908-1960) was a renowned French artist and decorator, known for his exquisite work wit glass. Ingrand worked as the artistic director of FontanaArte, an interior design company based in Milan, where he brought forth many a design classic. .
