A Very Fine and Large 19th Century Giltwood Overmantel Mirror
About the Item
A very fine 19th Century giltwood overmantel mirror of large proportions and exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form with curved top corner returns is set within a stunning, intricately hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame surmounted with an overhanging stepped pediment above panelled frieze with dentil moulding and alternating fluted and flowerhead decorative motif detail. Raised over a pair of striking ring turned fluted columns to each side with beautiful foliate detail, supported on shaped and moulded platform base.
