A Very Rare and Fine Pair of 19th Century Giltwood Overmantle Mirrors
About the Item
A very rare and fine pair of 19th Century giltwood overmantle mirrors. The bevelled mirror glass plate of shaped, rectangular form is set within a finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame surmounted with curved architectural overhanging pediment with an elegantly ornate, centred crest composition comprising of flowerhead, foliate and c-scrolls flanked with trailing foliate and scroll motif detail, stunningly hand carved high relief. Supported on shaped platform base with a further gorgeous arrangement of c-scrolls and foliate to each side.
