Pair of Italian Louis XV Mirrors 18th Century Mercury Glass Shaped Mirrors

About the Item

Italian pair of 18th century Louis XV style carved mecca mirrors, a pair of silver-leaf with mecca finish carved frames, lovely scrolling, floral and vegetal Louis XV carving, with mercury glasses, one is broken in the lower part, see closed-up detail. They are originally realized and born as sconces, as you can easily resume by the holes in the lower part of the structures, for the missing arms. They come from a private palazzo in Milano downtown. Good age related condition, wear consistent with age and use, minor mecca losses and old restorations. Italian origin, they date back to last quarter of the 18th century. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti. The shipping may require additional 2-3 handling weeks to require and get the license according to the final destination of the artwork. Measures: Height 98 cm, width 53.5 cm, depth 10 cm.
