19th Century Giltwood Pair of Neat Size Pier Mirrors
About the Item
A fabulous 19th Century giltwood pair of pier mirrors of exceptional quality and neat proportions. The central mirror glass plates of oval form is set within a stunningly hand carved moulded, fluted and pierced giltwood frame with gorgeous beaded row, flowerhead stylised lozenge and dart motifs. Surmounted with an intricately pierced centred crest composition of an arrangement of centred cabochon flanked with flowerheads, beading and richly scrolling acanthus leaves, finely hand carved in high relief. The apron with further beautiful pierced lattice work, an arrangement of flowers, foliate and scrolling acanthus motif detail.
