Antique Gilt Decorated Pier Mirror
About the Item
A well constructed and very decorative Antique mirror with a Garden theme. The Primitive (Later) white painted wood panel with a gilt framed mirror. The top with an applied carved and gilt garden theme decoration with a bow crest over crossed garden tools and leaf and berry branches, a song bird perched on a house resting on a flute and a hat and tassels below. The mirror frame is overpainted in a thick Creme tone paint and losses reveal an earlier robin’s egg blue paint.
Dimensions: 55" H x 32" W x 1" D
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of great age include paint losses, chips to the finish and enhancing oxidation to the mirror glass. There is an old repair to the leaf and berry branch at the right however the mirror retains a Romantic and Charming presentation.
