About the Item
Biedermeier pier mirror veneered in mahogany with ebonized panel insets. Gilded stucco ornaments include rosettes, a fruit basket, and stylized griffins. The mirror is flanked by half-columns with gilt capitals and bases. It is crowned with a broad cornice featuring a gadrooned and gilded frieze. The original mirror plate is bordered by a narrow gilt-patinated stucco molding.
