About the Item

Continental 18th century walnut pier mirror The moulded frame in cross cut walnut veneers with a moulded parcel gilt slip, the original mirror plate with some foxing, below a floral painted panel with a fret cut border mounted with a carved and gilded crown with a trio of ostrich feathers. Dutch, circa 1780 Mirrors of this style were made in England in the Queen Anne period, the style was also favoured on the continent in the 18th century, from the style and construction of this mirror we attribute it to be Dutch.
