About the Item
A fabulous 19th Century giltwood hall, pier or dressing mirror of large proportions and exceptional quality. The shaped mirror glass plate is set within a a finely hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame with gorgeous foliate, ribbon twist and sanded border detail. Surmounted with a fabulous pierced crest compostion of centred shell with ruffles, acanthus leaves, c and s scrolls, flanked with elegant scrolling acanthus leaves, finely carved in high relief. The shaped platform base with a further beautiful arrangement of trailing foliate and scrolls to each side.
